Martin Julich MRSS(T)
Dip CHM
Martin Julich came to shiatsu while he was studying Gestalt
Psychotherapy in Hamburg & Tuscon in 1987. Going on to train in shiatsu he
qualified in 1996, since when he has been working as a practitioner.
Shiatsu as a holistic practice treats the realms of
body, emotions, mind and spirit. the strength of shiatsu (& acupuncture for
example) lies in its theoretical approach combined with energy work.
To give you a simple example:
"a client may come with migraines, problems in fat
digestion and a lot of anger that was there lately.
From a theoretical point of view these all relate to
the ‘wood element’ which is home to liver and gallbladder
meridians and organs.
This is the first clue for what to treat. In questioning
the client more the therapist will find out some more of the health history and
that will be one basis for treatment. The other basis is touch."
Martin Julich is an accredited Teacher of 5 Rhythms™
Dance and has held classes and weekend workshops in this since 1994.
He is also a
Teacher of Shiatsu with Aberdeen College of Shiatsu and a founding Director of the
Rosemount Centre for Complementary Therapies in Aberdeen.
He is trained in Gestalt therapy with the IGTC
in Hamburg. Other trainings or interests are with Voice work, Yoga and
Qigong.
In 2005 he gained a Diploma in Chinese Herbal Medicine (Dip CHM) through the
College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading.
One of his main interests is the integration between Western
and Complementary Medicine. To that end Martin wants to encourage everyone
to ask their GP's for the (complementary) therapy of choice, may it be
Acupuncture, Shiatsu, Reiki, Colonic Hydrotherapy or whatever.
